Dõjima turns to powder as it combines with the warmth of the skin and a cloud of rice powder surrounded by jasmin and orris radiates through the day. The soft texture of rice is lifted by a warm powdered amber speckled with dry spices and woods on a creamy musk base.
Notes: Rice Accord, nutmeg absolue, ambrette, jasmin, orris, clary sage absolute, labdanum CO2, sandalwood and precious musks.
Dojima was my introduction to Fredrik Dalman's creations. Absolutely did not expect the subtle rice notes to last on my perfume-eating skin, but they were very present all through, against the musky, milky backdrop of orris, ambrette, musk and labdanum, accentuated with tiny hints of sweet, spicy nutmeg.
Fairly unisex although perhaps on the sweeter side. Longevity is above average, and while it definitely got noticed, it is by no means a loud/statement fragrance.
Compared to MdO's creations, Dalman's formulations seem to be quieter, more introspective (and, for lack of a better word, more Scandinavian). Even though Dojima was far more linear than I anticipated, it is proof that linear needn't be boring. I love how understated and comforting and exquisitely blended this fragrance is, and I loved catching whiffs of this glorious creation as I went about my day.
Disclamer: I received a fairly generous sample of Dojima from etiket, and have particularly enjoyed how it develops on my skin on crisp-but-warmish winter days. While I don't own a FB yet, I fully intend to pick one up for myself for the spring/fall, because I think it will be magical at that time.
