"37 degrees in the shade. Citrus fever, cut kalamansi, spicy bergamot. Framework: squeaky teak. Urban jungle, fabric farrago. Bat-ti-kan-ga! Rhythmic mélange. Roasted hazelnuts. Squeezed, struck, sliced: bodies alight."
The taste of a cocktail of citruses heightened with chilli, in a colorful tropical market. Icy, juicy and spicy bergamot contrasts with the warmth of vetyver and myrrh.
Fragrance family: citrusy spicy woody eau de parfum.
Key raw materials: bergamot essential oil, orange bigarade essential oil, chili essential oil, vetyver essential oil, cedar essential oil, myrrh absolute.

Why you'll love it
"Citrus Batikanga" is another surprising inversion of perfume stereotype by Crivelli. If you thought citrus fragrances had to be simple or inconsequential, think again: "Citrus Batikanga" has wow factor. When it first arrived, we'll admit we started passing it around the Etiket office, unable to stop sniffing. That isn't to say the scent is particularly intense. Master perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour (who created many favourites from L’Artisan Parfumeur) uses a novel chili pepper effect to energize glowing abstract citrus with an addictive, electric warmth. The result is a new kind of citrus; comforting but unsweet, refreshing but mysterious, casual but very sexy.
