Atelier Cologne Grand Néroli

A modern take on a classic cologne style. Grand Neroli hearkens back to the very origins of mens' colognes. The grandaddy of them all, 4711, was very much a neroli and citrus scent. That genre became the classic "fresh scent" for men.
Grand Neroli starts there and never looks back. The opening is citrus, followed by the most beautiful orange-blossom natural, swirling around you like the breeze in an orange grove. this develops into a darker, more earthy, almost musky orange, which takes one in time to the early 1920's where civet was often a base in neroli scents. Splendour lost and regained! The drydown remains orange, but takes on a green woody note. Think of sitting on a bare patch of earth, leaning against the trunk of an old orange tree, while the breeze picks up the scent of the late blossoms, and mixes it with the scent of the grass and earth, that's where Grand Neroli will take you. Sillage is average, as befits a cologne, and longevity is in the 4-5 hour range.
This one would make a lovely summer scent for either men or women. Clean, bright and oh, so orange, a definite modern classic.
