Penhaligon's: Juniper Sling Eau de Toilette 100ml
Another 5 star
Product ratingIt could be because I love a good gin and tonic, although to be quite honest I don't get the reference, except that there is juniper in this and in gin.
This is a beautiful and easily wearable fragrance.

Gin and Summer - refreshing!
Product ratingPenhaligons offers that Juniper Sling is "inspired by the most iconic and atmospheric of spirits: London Dry Gin." Now this could have been rather tricky, as you can take gin in days gone by to be either the glamorous gin of the roaring 20's flapper era, the rather staid gin and tonic of the Raj, or even, at an extreme to the gin besotted slums of Victorian London (ahem). Fortunately, the 20's spirit won out.
Juniper Sling opens up with a lovely juniper note, as befitting it's name, lightly imbued with a touch of cinnamon for spice. To this nose, that's rather Bombay Sapphire, than Beefeaters or Gordons. After a bit, a pepper note makes itself known, again fully in keeping with a juniper and spice melange. The pepper is soon joined by an undertone of cardamom (green, I think), and that juniper ginny scent is complete. There is just a hint of a leather note, after all, with all that gin, one does need one a comfy chair.
After a bit (say 30 minutes) one gets a hint of a brown sugar (almost a caramel) and cherries, and that's where it settles..
Its a lovely summery scent, that could be worn by both sexes. The only caveat is that it wears very, very close, but that may not be a bad thing. Longevity seems average, but may appear to be less given the low sillage.
Gin and summer, captured, for as Penhaligons puts it "enigmatic boys and girls"

Product ratingI was given a sample of this and forgot I had it in my travel bag. Was in TO over the weekend and tried it. New favourite for me. I usually wear heavier fragrances that have sandalwood or musk and I wore Esprit du Roi from Penhaligon's for a long time. But there is something clean and light about this one that seems newer. Have to get the whole bottle now.
